What is a Proxy?

Proxy Server

Basically proxy server is a secondary remote computer which works as broker like a middle man who get request from us and send us our requested data after process it. Here our home machine contact with proxy server instead of main server because we send request about a website to proxy server and proxy server surf this website, collect requested data and reply us our asking data. There are lots of reasons of using proxy server. Surf internet anonymously, reaching restriction site, filtering web content, download and upload video from blocking site are the main reason of using proxy server.


Why Use a Proxy?

If you are thinking about surfing internet anonymously then proxy is better solution for you because proxy will hide your IP address. As a result when you connect your home computer with internet then your IP address will be hidden from web world and proxy server IP address will be placed for surfing internet. Proxy is giving you more privacy than directly surfing internet. There are number of proxies for protecting your privacy in web world and you can easily get this proxy from any search engine by just typing “proxy list”. From them some proxies are totally free and rest of other paid proxy. Some paid proxy charge little money with slow connection and some proxy charge much with high speed connection. Which proxy you will choose it’s totally depend on you but paid proxy is better than free proxy.


How to setup a proxy?

Proxy is setup by internet browser and almost all browsers can be setup proxy with in few minutes. From them some browser setting is given below.


Mozilla Firefox Proxy Setting:-
1. Open your Mozilla Firefox browser
2. Click Tools and select Options( A Options popup window will appear )
3. Click Advance, choose Network and click Settings ( A Connection Settings popup window will appear )
4. Choose Manual Proxy Configuration
5. Give proxy IP address in HTTP Proxy box
6. Give port number in Port Box
7. Press OK
8. Now go IP Gaze for checking proxy


Google Chrome Proxy Setting:-
1. Open your Google Chrome browser
2. Click Customize and control Google Chrome square button ( It’s upper right hand side) and select Settings
3. Click Change proxy settings from Network (A Internet properties popup window will appear)
4. Select Connection and click LAN Settings (Again popup window will appear)
5. Select Proxy server and click Advanced
6. Give proxy IP address in HTTP box
7. Give port number in Port Box
8. Press OK
9. Now go IP Gaze for checking proxy


Internet Explorer Proxy Setting:-
1. Open your Internet Explorer browser
2. Click Tools and select Internet Options( A Internet Options popup window will appear )
3. Select Connections and click LAN Settings (Again popup window will appear)
4. Select Proxy server and click Advanced
5. Give proxy IP address in HTTP box
6. Give port number in Port Box
7. Press OK
8. Now go IP Gaze for checking proxy
