Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how iPGaze, operated by Middlesurf Inc., a company based in Canada (“we”, “us”), collects, uses and shares information when you use our website and network tools. By using the site you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Technical data, including your IP address. Our servers automatically receive your IP address, browser user-agent and request time. We use these for the service to function, for security and to prevent abuse (rate limiting). Some tools (e.g. “What Is My IP”) display your IP to you.
- Contact form data. If you contact us, we collect the name, email address and message you submit, plus your IP address for spam prevention.
- Tool inputs. The values you enter into a tool (such as a domain name or IP address) are processed to perform the requested lookup and may be sent to the third-party services listed below.
- Usage analytics. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 collects pageviews, approximate location, device and browser information and similar usage data (with IP anonymization enabled) so we can understand and improve the site. If you decline, it is not loaded.
- Local storage / cookies. We store your theme preference (light/dark) and your cookie-consent choice in your browser. See “Cookies” below.
How we use information
- To provide, operate and maintain the tools you request.
- To respond to your contact messages.
- To secure the service and prevent abuse, fraud and excessive use.
- To understand usage and improve the site.
Third-party services we share data with
To perform certain lookups and features, data (which may include your IP address or the values you enter) is transmitted to the following providers, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- ip-api.com — IP geolocation (city, ISP, ASN). Your looked-up IP is sent to this service.
- OpenStreetMap — map tiles used to display an approximate IP location.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — bot/spam protection on the contact form.
- public-dns.info — directory of public DNS servers.
- BGPView and RIPEstat (RIPE NCC) — ASN and routing data.
- Public DNS resolvers and target hosts. Tools such as DNS lookup, ping, traceroute, port check, SSL check and HTTP headers cause our server to query DNS resolvers or connect to the host you specify.
- Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — website usage analytics. Loaded only after you accept analytics cookies; it sets cookies (e.g.
_ga) and receives pageview and device/usage data. IP anonymization is enabled. - Google AdSense (Google LLC) — displays ads on the site. Google and its partners may use cookies and your IP/device data to serve and measure ads. For visitors in the EEA/UK we use Google’s consent message to ask permission before personalized ads are shown; you can request non-personalized ads. See how Google uses data.
We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use browser local storage for essential, functional purposes (remembering your theme and consent choice). When you accept via our cookie banner, Google Analytics sets measurement cookies (e.g. _ga); if you decline, they are not set and the analytics script is not loaded. We may also enable advertising partners in future, which would set their own cookies. You can clear cookies/local storage in your browser at any time.
Data retention
Server request logs (including IP addresses) are retained only as long as needed for security and operation, then deleted or anonymized. Contact messages are kept as long as needed to handle your enquiry.
Your rights
Depending on your location — for example under Canada’s PIPEDA, the EU/UK GDPR, or California’s CCPA/CPRA — you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to certain uses. To exercise these rights, contact us.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
International transfers
The third-party services above may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, appropriate safeguards apply.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version.
