About the BIMI Check
BIMI Check looks up a domain's Brand Indicators for Message Identification record, a TXT entry at default._bimi.yourdomain starting with v=BIMI1. The record points to a brand logo in SVG format and, optionally, a Verified Mark Certificate that attests to logo ownership. When supported, BIMI displays your verified logo next to authenticated messages, reinforcing brand trust in the inbox.
How to use
- Enter the domain whose BIMI record you want to inspect.
- Run the check to read the TXT record at default._bimi.yourdomain.
- Review the logo (l=) URL and any Verified Mark Certificate (a=) reference.
Frequently asked questions
- What is a prerequisite for BIMI?
- BIMI requires the domain to enforce DMARC with a policy of quarantine or reject. Without strong DMARC, mailbox providers will not display the logo.
- What format must the BIMI logo use?
- The logo must be an SVG file in the SVG Portable/Secure (SVG Tiny PS) profile, referenced by the l= tag in the record.
- What is a VMC?
- A Verified Mark Certificate verifies that the brand owns the logo. Some providers, such as Gmail, require it via the a= tag before showing the image.
