About the ASN Lookup
An ASN (Autonomous System Number) identifies a network operator on the internet โ the organization that announces a set of IP ranges via BGP. This ASN Lookup tool resolves an AS number to the company behind it, its country, the regional registry (RIR) that allocated it, and its abuse/contact details. Enter the number in any common form: AS15169, AS 15169, AS-15169 or just 15169.
How to use
- Enter an AS number (e.g. AS15169 or 15169).
- Press Run to query the global routing/registry data.
- Review the operator name, country, registry and contacts.
Frequently asked questions
- What is an ASN?
- An Autonomous System Number is a globally unique identifier for a network (an 'autonomous system') that controls its own routing policy and announces IP prefixes via the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
- How do I find the ASN for an IP address?
- Look up the IP first โ our IP Information tool reports the ASN that announces the address. You can then enter that AS number here for the operator's full registry details.
- What does the registry (RIR) field mean?
- It is the Regional Internet Registry that allocated the ASN โ ARIN (North America), RIPE NCC (Europe/Middle East), APNIC (Asia-Pacific), LACNIC (Latin America) or AFRINIC (Africa).
